Elementary Tutoring
Young children learn at different paces. We have seen children at a young age have difficulties grasping simple concepts. With proper guidance and teaching them how to learn properly, they have a very good chance of being able to keep up with other children in their grade. However, in order to help these children, it is important to find out if anything is holding them back and how to address those issues.
In order to help children, parents need to be aware of the symptoms of learning disabilities that may be present. One of the symptoms that children with learning disabilities have is having poor concentration. If you are talking to your child or ask them to do a task and they have problems concentrating it may be a sign of a learning disability. Another possible sign of a learning disability is if your child is having problems with reading and writing. Also, if the child has problems remembering even the simplest fact it may signify a learning disability.
If you believe your child has a learning disability, what should you do? Depending on the perceived disability, you should seek the advice of an appropriate medical professional. If you are uncertain who to contact, your child’s pediatrician should be able to direct you to the proper person. The medical professional will test your child on specific learning disabilities and based on the results will suggest a course of action.
Whatever treatment is recommended, your child’s school should be able to play a part in helping out. Based on the detected learning disability an education plan will be created that the school can follow to assist your child. Depending on the learning disability the school may offer more time for testing, preferred seating near the front of the class, specialized help with work and other accommodations.
We have also helped students overcome their learning disabilities. We have tutors that are specialized in special education and have had great success in achieving positive results. We use the philosophy of doing whatever we can to help the students. We have found that if the students are more comfortable with the learning disability, and embrace the help, they can have success.
