Middle School Tutoring
For a student, the middle school years are some of the most important years in the education process. In elementary school you are getting the basics of how to learn, work with others, and are getting a good foundation on doing homework, projects and in taking tests. The years that your child spends in elementary school will provide a nice introduction to the middle and high school years.
While the middle school years are very important, we also realize that some kids need some extra help. Some children have learning disabilities that were uncovered in their younger years, and others do not become diagnosed until they are teenagers. Regardless of when it was noticed that they are having problems learning, it is important that the issues are addressed as quickly as possible. The sooner the learning disabilities are discovered, the quicker they can be addressed so the child can focus on schoolwork.
In conjunction with your child’s school, our tutors can supplement the education and assist in helping them know how to learn. Often middle school age children will have difficulties with assignments, note taking, test taking and remembering key parts of what was covered. In addition to the normal review of material that is being taught, we have specialists that can assist in adapting tutoring methods to meet your student’s needs and abilities.
Recently we have also added sessions for high school students. In these group and individual sessions, we can help your teen prepare for college by offering SAT and PSAT prep courses, review college applications and essays, assist in planning for college and other college preparation needs. We also have joined with area colleges and high schools in offering assistance in college fairs and open house events. We feel that the more information you and your student have, the better prepared they will be for college.
Another component to our programs is aimed at teens that are not looking to go to college right away. We offer our services to help identify what they would like to do and help them decide what path to take. Some may opt for the military, some may want to enter the work force and others may want to take a gap year before starting college. Whichever they decide, we can help.
