Who We Are

When I was eight years old, I had a great deal of difficulty completing my schoolwork. My grades were starting to suffer, and my parents were very concerned. After some testing it was determined that I had Dyslexia. This learning disability proved to be a big stumbling block to overcome, but with personalized work I was able to get back on the right track and was able to complete high school and college. The work of others made a big impression on my life and provided me with the desire to help others in need. This is how I began my career in tutoring and education.

Several years ago, I met a wonderful lady named Joyce. It was love at first sight and many years later we are married and work together in our tutoring enterprise. Joyce and I share a common love – education. We met in college while both of us were elementary education majors. We quickly found that we had a lot in common and were dedicated to helping educate others. After college we each got jobs as elementary school teachers. In our spare time we started to offer our services tutoring kids up to middle school age. With tutoring we found many of our students had good success in school. This got us thinking that we can offer our services to others.

From this idea came Little Tucson Tutoring. We offer tutoring services primarily to kids from elementary age to middle school age. But recently we have added additional tutoring opportunities for older students. Our tutoring sessions can cover a wide array of subjects such as math, english, history and science. In addition, although it is not part of our core work, we can also help with languages. For teens we also offer services in college preparation to help study for the ACT, SAT and how to properly apply to the college of your choice.
